Indian Idol winner Prashanta Tamang has again enthralled Nepali audiences as tens of thousands of Nepalese youths danced to his tunes at musical concerts during the weekend at Kathmandu and eastern Nepal towns Dharan and Birtamod.

“Born in Darjeeling, I love to sing Nepali songs, and I have sung many Nepalese songs,” he said here.

He had earlier visited Kathmandu and the famous tourist spot of Pokhara to give live performances soon after winning the Indian Idol title a couple of months ago.

But his trip this time had cost him an opportunity to sing for a Nepali film.

Film producer, Naresh Poudyal, went to Mumbai to meet Prashanta to offer him a song for his new film Deepsikha. But, Prashanta was not available as he was on his way to Nepal and some Indian cities for various performances and the nod went to his competitor and Indian Idol runner-up, Amit Paul, who will now sing the film’s playback song.

Prashanta, earlier, sung a solo song and a duet with noted Nepali artist, Mausami Malla, according to Nayapatrika weekly. Both the songs were recorded at a music studio in Mumbai.

After returning from Nepal, Prashanta will give his performance to Nepali-speaking audiences in Hong Kong, London, South Africa and USA, according to the media reports.
